Thunder and Lightning Season in Michigan

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

We’ve been enjoying some exciting thunder and lightning storms from the enclosed porch at Jeffree’s sister’s house. They are a nice reward after the hot and humid weather that usually precedes the storms. Reminds me of the rainy season in Tanzania!

Family in Phoenix

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

My cousin Derek’s daughter, Ashley, graduated from high school and I was able to make it to Phoenix for the festivities. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with both of my cousins, Derek (with his fiancĂ©e Cara) and Jacqui (who lives in Qatar!) as well as my Uncle Larry and Aunt Cindy and their granddaughter Angelique, Aunt Sandra, and of course my Mom!

We started with some fluffing at the salon near the San Marcos Hotel where Mom and I stayed.

The ceremony for the 649 students in Ashley’s class held their ceremony in the arena at Arizona State University.

We didn’t get to see much of Ashley but we kept ourselves entertained with pedicures and an impromptu early 40th birthday party for Jacqui.
